God spoke…and it was! The very 1stst verse in the Bible speaks to creativity “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” …...He spoke it….and it was! Genesis 1:3 states “Then God said, let there be light, and there was light!” The vibration and energy that flows from the spoken word, is powerful! The creation of our universe is evidence of this power. God created the heavens and the earth, He created man in the likeness of His own image through the vibration of His words… Therefore, we possess the power to create … simply through the vibration of our words that we speak into the atmosphere.I believe in the power of words and each year I choose a word to focus on for that year. In the past my words have been “Freedom,” I desired freedom from my 9-5 job to explore the gifts God has placed inside of me. Another year it was the word “Power.” We all have the power to choose our paths in life. This year it is “Intention.” I am being intentional about what I do this year because I desire the manifestation of those intentions…. according to His will, of course😊 .
I don’t have a patent on these words, so I invite you, to utilize any of these words that speaks to your spirit… make that your word for 2021. We must be intentional about the words we speak for they can bring forth the manifestation of God’s plan for our lives IF we allow God into the creative aspects of our lives.
Words can change our physical reality! When you see it happen in your life, you will view the spoken word completely different. We see God’s creation every day we open our eyes…... but do we see the creativity He has placed in each of us?
Words have power! I am not asking you to turn to your neighbor, I am asking you to turn within and speak these words over, in, and through your own mind, body, spirit, and soul…. Speak these words into the atmosphere and let the vibration of the syllables flow through your spirit “I am creative!” I am able to turn new and imaginative ideas into reality. I am able to perceive the world in new ways….to find hidden patterns, to make connections between seemingly unrelated phenomena and to generate solutions (stay with me ya’ll, this is deep.) I can visualize what it is that I was created to do. I can then turn that vision into an actual reality. I am creative because God made me that way!” We are creators. We create our lives. We create our relationships, families, our homes, and so much more.
Romans 12:6
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith
I Timothy 4:14
Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you
With that being said, we can start to speak a decree over our lives. A decree is a command that makes changes in the spiritual and physical realm. As we decree God’s word and will, the mighty power of the Holy Spirit is released into the atmosphere. The Bible tells us that God’s word will not return to us void.
Romans 12:6 tells us that we all have different gifts. I challenge you today…...to stir up your gifts! What is your decree? Your I AM? What is it that you are speaking over yourself? What is it that you should be speaking over yourself that gives you joy? What is it that needs to occur to re-awaken that creativity in you, you know that creativity that has been smoldering inside of you for years? The creativity that has been consumed and smothered by fear, stress, anxiety, worry, doubt…... life. That creativity that has been smoldering for so long that you may have forgotten what your creative gifts are! You may have even forgotten what ignited the creative flames in the first place! What do you need to re-ignite those creative flames…… to re-ignite your creativity…… to re-ignite the creativity shut up in your bones?
So, I ask you today and challenge you today to develop your “I Am” … what is your creative passion in life? What is it that gives you joy? What is it that you would do even if you didn’t get paid to do it? What is it that you imagine yourself doing, and you dream about? George Eliot states “It’s never too late to be what you might have been.” As long as you are living, blinking, and breathing, you can still fulfill some of those goals and dreams you set for yourself so long ago. I know life has thrown some major curve balls. There were things you thought you would never recover from, but you are here! Give God some praise for that!
I challenge each of you to write a statement for yourself and to begin with the words “I Am”
Isaiah 43:19 states: See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Sometimes you have to cut some things, and people, out of your life to make room for new growth and to make room for your new “I Am.” You may be holding on to the old because you are afraid to let go. You are afraid of what it may look like. You are afraid of what others may think. You can't be afraid to let go and start over. To let go and release that creative spirit within. It is scary. It may not LOOK like what you want it to initially. But if you remain steadfast, the rewards will come from your stepping out on faith…. even if you fail…… you have at least eliminated an option and are one step closer to success! Each time I have stepped out on faith, it has been frightening. Fear of the unknown. But I remained true to the God that I serve. He has never, ever failed me. A life lesson that I hope helps someone.
Perhaps you are not in the position to begin to walk fully in your creativity. That is ok, recognize the season that you are in on your creative journey. It may just be your season of preparation. It is always said there is a time and place for everything. In the season of preparation, you can do something in preparation of unleashing your creativity. Take a class; learn the business, learn the principles, practice, train….do something to begin to develop your creative spirit. When the desire is there but the opportunity is absent, prepare…. until the opportunity arrives. Deepak Chopra – “the most important time in your life is now.” Do something now, to prepare for tomorrow and your “I Am.”
Habakkuk 2:3 Then the Lord replied:
“Write down the vision and make it plain on tablets so that a herald[b] may run with it. 3 For the vision awaits for an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it[c] will certainly come and will not delay.
Write your vision
1. Write out the steps it will take to get there (as best you can)
2. Write out deadlines for completing the various steps along the way (a “To Do” list)
3. Allow yourself the time to learn everything about what it takes to be successful in your creativity
4. What do you need to have?
5. What needs to happen to maintain or continue to grow creatively
6. How much time will it take?
7. Mistakes along the way- THAT IS OK!
8. Allow yourself some flexibility and setbacks
9. Visualize then actualize…. then praise God for the manifestation of the re-awakening of your creative nature.
10. Embrace the journey to re-awakening the fire of creativity in you!
Life is short. We spend 80% of our time doing the things we have to do and 20% of our time doing the things we want to do. If you can figure out a way to turn those numbers around, if you can figure out a way to make a living at working your passion…………. you will never work another day in your life. Walk in your creativity!!! It’s “Your Time” …” God equips us to develop our natural talents and our spiritual gifts for others (I Corinthians 12:7). Through prayerful reading of the Bible and the wise advice of others, we can better understand the spiritual gift or gifts that are uniquely ours. It’s time Brothers and Sisters, Boys and Girls! It’s my time! It’s your time! It’s Our time to re-awaken the creativity that has smoldered inside of each of us. You may be one decision away from a changed life.
The vibration of these words can move one to action.
Oprah Winfrey
“You don’t have to hold yourself hostage to who you used to be”
Myles Munroe said the richest place on earth is the cemetery because so many go to their graves having not utilized their gifts……. the gifts that God created just for them. I challenge you today to join me on a mission to stir up your creativity and do what God has purposed you to do!
The call of “Go” comes at a cost…. there will be naysayers…there will be those who war against us…who try to hinder you…. but if we pay the price of the call of God on our lives, the “Go” …. the rewards will come! The greatness of God will shine through.
I challenge you today to stir up your creativity…… reawaken the fire, make a difference…. and to one day leave this earth as an empty vessel…... because…... YOU used the creativity that God has placed inside of you. Fight for who you are. Go…... be creative…...and embrace the journey!
