Revelation of Relationships
We tend to attract like minded people. People who think like we do, believe what we believe, live like we live. But the world is so much bigger than the space we occupy. It is full of great ideas, great perspectives, great food! I know! I digress! But the point is, we all come to the table with perspectives and ideas based on the world around us. It is that world that helps to shape our relationships. Relationships matter! Relationships help to make us or break us! I have been so fortunate to live outside of the continental United States. Fortunate from the perspective of experiencing life beyond my immediate circle. There is a great big world out there full of people who may not look like our immediate circle or believe like our immediate circle, but they are still people. People with similar desires for a good life. Have you ever considered that the answer to certain questions, the solution to certain problems may lie in a relationship that will never manifest simply because the person does not fit into the circle of life that surrounds us?
I have witnessed what would otherwise be a non-existent romantic relationship, exist and thrive. Why? Because the two individuals involved had the courage to step outside of their comfort zone and explore the possibilities beyond their imagination! Opportunities present themselves many times through relationships that have developed, in some instances over time. There have been business relationships that have developed from conversation. Listening, sharing, respecting each other’s point of view. Discovering commonalities. What can develop out of a relationship is priceless! Good people are a blessing! Good people surround themselves with other good people! Good people help each other grow and support each other. It’s not a competition! It’s relaxed. It’s easy. It’s a relationship.
We all tend to feel comfortable with the people we have developed a relationship with. We have gotten to know them and feel comfortable in their presence. This doesn’t always come easy because sometimes there is judgement in what we see on the outside. How sad it is that some people never find what it is that they desire. They never find the answer or solutions to certain problems. They never fill that void in their heart. They never reach their goal because they do not develop relationships that lie outside of their comfort zone. We as human beings were not designed to live life in isolation. We must be willing to embrace each other, encourage each other, and inspire each other as we all continue this journey called life.
