Often times people put us in a box that we sometimes feel trapped in. We are trapped in the expectation of others. Trapped in a movie where the rewind button is stuck and there seems to be no way to fast forward! Sometimes you just have to break out of the box and find that fast forward button!
We all pursue some sort of path in life. It could be educational or a trade, profession, a path. During the course of the journey, we find other doors that are available to open, and we walk through those doors. Once we get through those doors, we find amazing and wonderful opportunities. We find experiences we never thought of. We find gifts, talents, and skills we never knew we had or never considered entertaining. We find that we are actually good at it, and we decide to pursue that path much to the confusion of some of the people around us who may still have us in that box that we just broke out of. It’s a challenging place to be as you are excited about your new venture. You want to share it with everyone, but the naysayers dampen the moment. Well, I’m here to tell you that you must, as I always say, embrace the journey!
There are some things in life that you embrace for a season. Everyone may not understand or embrace it with you, but it is yours to embrace and enjoy. The pursuit of the new journey is exciting and sometimes you may just need to celebrate in solitude as you pursue! Just think about the possibilities, the opportunities, the new direction. It’s refreshing! I know from experience that sometimes I will sit back and think, how did I get here? I mean my life journey started out in one direction and then took an abrupt detour that I didn’t see coming. Yes, it took a minute to collect myself and regroup. In that process there were so many twists, turns, setbacks and failures, I almost felt defeated. But it has all been worth it. Can you relate? I bet you can. You have got to grab that opportunity and run with it. You meet people who do not know you from a can of paint (I know, that’s an old expression). Those people see something in you, they see potential, they see innovative ideas, they see you! Grab those opportunities and run with them. Learn what you need to learn to do what it is that you are now seeking to do. Where there is a will, there is a way so make it happen. You may have to start from scratch on this particular endeavor, but you have the benefit of a lifetime of experiences to pull from to accelerate the learning curve.
